Lacinato Kale
Kale is our longest season crop, beginning with mid-June harvests and ending when frosts regularly dip into the teens, generally through the month of November. We feed the soil heavily before planting , and keep the field irrigated in dry years to provide the kale optimal, stress-free growing conditions, resulting in sweet mild leaves all season long.We grow three varieties; hearty Winterbor Green Kale, curly Redbor Red Kale and tender, sweet Lacinato Kale, also known as Black Tuscan Kale and Dino Kale.
